Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers Mask Imperfections
Porcelain veneers remake the appearance of the teeth that show when you smile. They cover up any number of smile imperfections — from chipped and cracked to discolored or misshapen teeth. Veneers improve the size, shape, color, and overall appearance of your smile.
Dental porcelain is a sturdy material that closely resembles tooth enamel. It is strong and reflects light in the same way as your natural teeth. One significant difference between veneers and your original teeth is that porcelain does not discolor at the same rate. That means your porcelain veneers will stay the same shade of white for years and years after their application.
Veneers offer a number of benefits for people with imperfect teeth. Some of the advantages of veneers include...
- Multiple dental imperfections are solved with a single treatment.
- Most people are good candidates for dental veneers.
- Dental porcelain stays beautifully white for years.
- Veneers are highly customizable for the precise results you want.
- Local anesthesia is available for a comfortable procedure.
Procedure For Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are placed in two to three visits to Sierra Smiles Dentistry of Pasadena. In the first, your cosmetic dentist puts together your treatment plan based on your goals and desires. Bring photos of smiles you admire to this appointment to help illustrate the look you would like to achieve. Once your treatment plan is in place, your doctor prepares your teeth for the veneers. A small amount of enamel is removed to make room for the veneers to be bonded on top. You leave the first visit with temporary veneers.
Between appointments, your veneers are manufactured in a separate lab using your specific smile information. You will come back to our office once they are ready. The temporary veneers are removed, and, after a final quality check, the permanent veneers are securely bonded onto the prepared teeth.
