Bridges

Do you need to replace a missing tooth? At Sierra Smiles, you can receive the help you need with a special custom-made prosthetic known as a crown and bridge.

WHAT IS A CROWN AND BRIDGE?
A crown and bridge, also known as a fixed bridge, combines a specially designed replacement tooth with one or, in most cases, two special dental crowns known as abutment crowns. The replacement tooth in a crown and bridge is meant to fill in the space created by what you’ve lost. The abutment crowns, meanwhile, are placed over the healthy teeth on each side of this space. They’re meant to provide the entire prosthetic with stability and functionality.

WHAT TO EXPECT
In most cases, a full crown and bridge procedure can be completed in as few as two visits. In the first visit, Dr. Linda Sierra or one of our other Pasadena, TX dentists will begin designing your restoration while other members of our team prep your teeth. While your permanent bridge is being crafted by our lab, you’ll wear temporary crowns over your abutment teeth to protect them. When your bridge is complete, you’ll return to our office to have your temporaries removed and your permanent prosthetic attached.

ALTERNATIVES TO A TRADITIONAL CROWN AND BRIDGE
In addition to offering custom-made crown and bridges, we also offer solutions like partial dentures and implant-supported prosthetics. Depending on your needs, one of these services may provide even better results. A partial denture replaces multiple missing teeth while dental implants can be used to replace everything from a single tooth to a full row of teeth. In both cases, patients can look forward to having a complete smile again.

WHICH SOLUTION IS RIGHT FOR ME?
During a special consultation at our dental office in Pasadena, TX, our team will complete a full oral health exam and make a personalized treatment recommendation based on the results. If you have any questions about what we’re recommending, don’t hesitate to let us know. We want you to have a full understanding of how we can help you before you agree to anything, whether we’re treating you with a simple crown and bridge or some other service.
